John has been a coach and performance improvement consultant since 1983, and a leadership/executive coach to CEOs, executives and senior managers since 1995. Through his customized and configured blended solutions, individual leaders and their teams develop effective leadership and management practices, improve their communications and coordination of actions, develop and align their teams, and produce sustainable, breakthrough results.

 

He also facilitates and teaches programs on:

John was a Director on the board of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the Association for Redevelopment Initiatives (ari). He is a former Acting Executive Director and Past President of the Board of Directors of the International Consortium for Coaching in Organizations (ICCO). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching (IOC). He was co-founder, former publisher and executive editor of IJCO The International Journal of Coaching in Organizations©. He has delivered presentations on a variety of topics to local, national and international audiences in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Belgium, Italy, Germany, North Macedonia, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Georgia, Australia, New Zealand, India, and China. 

He is the co-author (with five other leadership coaches) of MYPRISM Override Your Autopilot Choose Mindful Leadership, released April 2023. He is a contributor of four co-authored chapters in the forthcoming book, Social Innovation, to be released April 2024.

 

He is a valued coaching and/or consulting resource for several professional services and educational organizations, including Better Practice, Cambria Consulting, the Institute for Generative Leadership, Kantologos, and the Performance Improvement Institute.

 

John earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lake Forest College. He has been certified as a Master Coach by the International Coach Federation (ICF) since 1999. He received his coach training and certification from Newfield Network in 1992 and 2000, and from the Institute for Generative Leadership in 2010. John resides in Forest Park (a suburb of Chicago), Illinois, USA. He is a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
