Mariano L. Bernardez

 

Mariano L. Bernardez is Director of the Performance Improvement Institute, international program in social and organizational performance initiated at the Sonora Institute of Technology, responsible for the incubation of 34 new companies and 9,500 jobs. He is also managing director at the Executive Education Institute of Chicago, specializing in new business incubation and community turnaround. He has conducted successful turnarounds in the Southern Sonora region in Mexico, the cities of Bariloche, Pico Truncado, Tartagal, Buenos Aires and Rosario in Argentina, as well as communities in Brazil, Chile and Equatorial Guinea. He has been partner at Andersen Consulting and international consultant for the United Nations Development Program (PNUD) and his own consulting companies in United States, Spain and Argentina, board director of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and consultant to Fortune 500 companies and the governments of Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and the United States.

 

Mariano received a PhD from University of Buenos Aires, Finance and Management (MCI) from University of Chicago, a Masters in Distance Learning and Online Education for University of Phoenix and B.S. in Psychology and Psychometrics from National Institute for Psychological Research of Buenos Aires. He is Certified Performance Technologist accredited by International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).

 

He has been a research professor at the University of Salvador (Argentina), Complutense (Spain) and Sonora Institute of Technology - ITSON (Mexico), National Institute for Public Administration - INAP- in Argentina and Mexico, Inter-American School of Government at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Brazil) and visiting professor at NOVA and Florida State University. He is the author of six books and multiple articles in the field of management, business and urban development.
