Self-leadership and Collaboration by Design

September  2018

Presented by John B. Lazar and Joe Slatter

Pre-conference workshop at ISPI EMEA conference, Göteborg, Sweden

How do we design new behaviors and capabilities for ourselves for a “new normal” – where alternative mindsets, perspectives and arguments are desperately needed? How do we engage in ways that influence and inspire ourselves and those we work with to achieve better outcomes?

This session is an interactive, principles-based journey to shared context, content and method. Participants will gain access to practical, elegant, fun, powerful concepts, principles and practices for enhancing self-leadership and collaboration. Self-leadership and Collaboration by Design brings the power of design thinking, meta-collaboration and coaching to bear on one of humankind’s most meaningful challenges. An earlier version of this workshop received excellent reviews when presented at the 2018 ISPI Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington, USA and has been improved for this conference.

Successes, Failures and Lessons Learned: Two Views from the Trenches

September 2018

Presented by John B. Lazar and Daniela Robu

Concurrent session at ISPI EMEA conference, Göteborg, Sweden

Are employees equipped to contribute well in complex, emerging work environments? To be efficient and effective, a different mindset and new practices are required to enable an increased ability to execute while learning. Something as ‘simple’ as flexibility will bring a new level of complexity in employees’ work. This will affect the where, when and how work gets done; accessibility of information; and accountability for outcomes.

What might be a prescription for success for the employee of the future? This session will introduce lessons learned from three different projects and their implementation, and will continuously engage the participants to compare/contrast the findings with their experiences. This continuous ideation will help us consolidate themes on how to better design support tools and processes. We will identify trends that can transform how employees interact, collaborate, share knowledge, and connect that to their performance at work.

Framing the Conversation for Blended Solutions

January  2018

Presented by John B. Lazar

Webinar for Generative Leadership Community of Practice

Given real client performance gaps, coaches too frequently accept that a client’s requested solution is what’s actually and only needed. Often, however, needs assessment and root cause analysis reveal a more complex problem requiring a better integrated, multi-disciplinary approach that could extend over the entire life cycle of the solution. are integrated interventions that may combine coaching, education/training, and consulting. They can potentially provide more effective, lasting performance improvements than the more commonly used single or sequential approaches.

See what mindsets and conversations need to change to properly set expectations, formulate and propose value-adding solutions and design something blended, not stirred.
